The Pathway

Not a weekend. A way of living.

Most men try to fix their lives one piece at a time: the body at the gym, the mind in a book, the heart only when something breaks. The Pathway works on all of it together, heart, mind, body and spirit, in the company of men doing the same work.

It is an education, not an event. You learn to lead yourself at home, then in your community, and, if you are called, to hold the work for others.

How it works

Every stage of The Pathway is held the same three ways, so the work keeps going between the moments that change you.

Online

A guided course, at home

Short teachings, practices and reflection inside the Sacred Sons portal, one week at a time. The work meets you where you live, at a pace your life can hold.

Together

A small circle of men, every week

Live group calls with the same men and a guide who has walked it. The place where the week's work meets your real life, and where you stop doing it alone.

In person

Four days on the land

Each stage is completed in person at Sunstone, our home in Big Bear, California. Four days where the work moves out of your head and into your body.

Lead yourself at home

Where it starts. Meet what you have been carrying, come back into your body, and bring honesty home: to your partner, your children, your father and yourself.

Lead yourself in your community

Take the work out of the room. Presence, voice and inner authority in the places you already belong: your friendships, your work, your city.

Hold the circle

For the men who feel called. Learn to hold relational containers for others, the way the work was held for you, at Sacred Sons gatherings or in a circle of your own.

Each stage follows the same rhythm: online, together on calls, then four days in person.

After eight years on borrowed ground, Sacred Sons has a permanent home: a forty acre sanctuary in Big Bear, California, backed by national forest, off grid capable, and permitted to host the work. Not a rented venue. A campus.
